Country (Telecaster)
This solo in the style of "Country" features
the 1952 Reissue Fender Telecaster with its unmistakable country
tone. The slide is used at the beginning of the piece, and the
harmoniser effect is used towards the end of the piece. Once again AP
uses the fingers rather than a pick.

Jazz Fusion (Music Man)
This solo was performed to the chord progression for the
jazz standard "Fall". The guitar used is the Music Man John
Petrucci, through the Mesa Boogie Triaxis on Lead 2 channel. An
expression pedal is used to change the gain of the Triaxis preamp
between lead and rhythm sounds, and also add chorus effects for the
rhythm sound. Once again AP uses the fingers rather than a pick, to
obtain the desired tone.

Jazz Fusion (Gibson Les Paul)
This solo is performed over the chord progression
of the jazz standard "Girl From Ipanema". The solo incorporates
AP's preferred technique with fast legato runs using the fingers on
the right hand rather than a pick, to obtain the perfect tone.
The Gibson Les Paul Studio is used, with the
neck pickup selected and volume backed off for the smooth tone or on
full for the legato runs. The Mesa
Boogie Triaxis pre-amp is set on the second lead channel.
